Wenger, Director, University of Ca li fornia Study Centre P rof, M a rio n Wenger, born in 1907, received the B .A . degree from the U n iv e rs ity o f M ich iga n in 1928. He then attended the U n iv e rs ity o f Iowa, where he obtained the M .A . and P h .D . degrees in 1933 and 1935 respec tiv e ly . H e was a research associate at the U n iv e rs ity o f Chicago from 1935 to 1938. In 1938, he became associate professor at A n tio c h College and research associate at T h e Fels Research In s titu te . He served in the U .S . M a ritim e Service d u rin g W o rld W a r I I . In 1945 he jo in e d the F aculty o f the U n iv e rs ity o f Ca lifo rn ia , Los Angeles, and at present is a Professor o f the D e pa rtm ent o f Psychology at tha t u n ive rsity. P rof. W enger's many pu blications in clude a series o f P sychophysiological studies o f ch ildre n, male and female college students, and patients w ith psychological and psychosomatic disorders. H e has done extensive research on the measurement and significance o f in d iv id u a l differences o f autonom ic balance. He is serving as D ire c to r o f the U n iv e rs ity o f C a li­ fo rn ia S tud y Centre at the U n iv e rs ity fo r the academic year 1967-68. ‘ Mrs. Mabelle B. Nardin, Visiting Lecturer, School of Education M rs. M abelle N a rd in , a native o f M asonville, W isconsin, attended the U n iv e rs ity o f Chicago and the M cC o rm ac School o f Commerce, Chicago, before going to S tanford U n iv e rs ity to fin is h her B .A. degree in 1944. She then served in the U .S . D epa rtm ent o f State and in 1945 jo ine d the U .S . Foreign Service where she served on the staff in Bogota, Colum bia. F rom 1949 to 1958, she was C u ltu ra l A ffa irs O fficer in Cairo, Vienna, B rem en-Bonn, and W ashington, D .C . respec tive ly. D u rin g her service in th is capacity, she went on educational leave and received both her M .A . degree in Education and d iplom a in the teaching o f E ng lish as a Second Language from Teachers College, Co lum b ia U n iv e rs ity in 1957-60. A fte r her resignation from the U .S . Foreign Service, she was V is itin g L e c tu re r at Balwant R a jpu t College o f E ducation, Agra, Ind ia , in 1960.
