Plans for the Sports Centre are now being drawn. Proposals for construction of a University Aud i t o r i um (Great Ha l l ) and a Central Activities Building have been submitte d to the University Grants Committee for consideration . Decision on these projects is expecte d in September 1970. Chung Chi College Theology Building Construction of a Theology Building on the Chung Chi Campus was completed and the building was officially dedicated o n 31st October, 1969. The building consists of three main sections: a teaching and administrative section, a faculty apartment section and a student hostel section accommodating 48 students. In addition , there is a reading room with a reference library, a students' lounge and living quarters for the maintenance staff. 樓 學 神 院 學 基 崇 Theology Building, Chung Chi College Construction costs amounted to more than HK$1 .3 million. It wa s funded entirely from donations made by 18 churches, mission societies and foundations i n Great Britain, Canada, Hong Kong, New Zealand an d the United States. In addition, several individuals made substantial contributions. The building affords excellent facilities for the Theology Division of Chung Chi College's Department of Philosophy and Religion. Minor Staff Quarters A 4-storeyed building to provide accommodations for 12 married and 8 single minor staff members was completed during the month of November 1 969 at a cost of $143,000 and is now occupied. Road Widening Widening of roads on th e Chung Chi campus has been divided int o five phases to coincide with other construction planned for the College. Phase I in the vicinit y of the railroad station was completed in June 1969. Phases I I and I I I projects are now under contract. Phase I I w i ll link the Phase I road to the main access road leading to the University Headquarters f r om the railroad station. Phase III will provide access to the new Dining Room and Student Amenities Building t o be constructed north of the Chung Ch i Sports Field. The cost of the first three road projects w i ll exceed HK$1 .5 million. Phases I V and V are scheduled to be started in 1971 and 1972 respectively, following completion of Phase I I I. Dining Room and Student Amenities Building Site formation for this projec t is nearing completion and tendering for pilin g work has been approved. The total project , estimated to cost approximately H K $ 1.4 million , is scheduled for completion in February 1971. Additional Teaching Block/Library Site formation for this building has been completed and approval to tender for piling work has been granted. This project is also expected to be completed by February 1971 at an estimated cost of HK$2 .5 million, at least one-half of which will be met f r om private donations.
