Bulletin Summer 1977

The Graduation Exhibition 1977 o f the Fine Arts Department was held on 1st-15th June, 1977 at the Art Gallery, Institute o f Chinese Studies. This year, more than two hundred items are on display, including Chinese paintings, calligraphy, oil paintings, prints and sculptures, representing the works o f twelve graduates. The characteristics o f this year's Exhibition lie in the diversification o f media, the variety o f style and the innovations in techniques. Both traditional and modern techniques are employed in the Chinese paintings and the standard o f calligraphy is rather high. Innovative techniques are used in the making o f prints - wood prints and lithographs 一 resulting in some original forms. The annual Graduation Exhibition in Fine Arts demonstrates the jo in t efforts of the staff and students o f the Fine Arts Department in the search for a new ap­ proach to art in a modem society where the east and west meet.
