Seal of Vice-Chancellor The official Seal bears the Chinese inscription “Seal of the Vice-Chancellor of The Chinese University of Hong Kong", written in the clerical style of Chin Dynasty. It was designed and engraved by the late Mr. Chao Ho-chin, formerly part-time Lecturer of New Asia College. The knob of the Seal was carved in the shape of the University emblem, “The Bird of the South" or “Feng”. The Seal is 41/2 in. high, 2 1/8 in. long and wide, and weighs 3.5 lb. The side inscriptions are the University motto, "Po Wen Yüeh Li” and the words "Seal of the Vice-Chancellor o f The Chinese University of Hong Kong". On the third side is the design o a dragon. 10
