* A 'Women in Literature' book exhibition, jo in tly sponsored by the University lib ra ry and the English Society, was held from 27th September to 6th October at the lib ra ry . It was part o f the programme o f the Academic Fortnight organized by the Society. More than eighty books were on display. * The University Library held an exhibition o f art books from 15th to 22nd October in commemoration o f the Twentieth Anniversary o f the University. On display were about a hundred selected titles in the areas o f painting, calligraphy, pottery, porcelain, seals, etc. from the lib ra ry's special collection. * The Exhibition of Archaeological Finds from Han Tombs at Guangzhou and Hong Kong, jo in tly organized by the Guangzhou Museum and the A rt Gallery o f the University, is held from 19th November, 1983 to 8th January, 1984 at the A rt Gallery. Dr. the Hon. Q.W. Lee, Chairman o f the Council, officiated at the opening ceremony and preview o f the Exhibi tion on 18th November. The over one hundred exhibits o f Qin and Han relics from Guangzhou and Hong Kong are mostly pottery objects, also on display are bronzes, lacquer- ware, jades and stone objects. The types o f the burial objects include food and wine vessels, models o f carts, ships and houses, fingurines, tools and orna ments. These are valuable materials for the study o f burials, agriculture, handicrafts, culture, art, trans portation, foreign trade, and architecture in the Lingnan region o f the Han Dynasty.
