The President of the Association is Mr. Tony Kwock, who is supported by a large group of alumni in San Francisco and its vicinity. Other informal groups o f alumni in various cities in U.S.A., Canada, Europe, Australia and South east Asia had a great variety of activities, such as Chinese New Year gatherings, BBQ and bon-fire camps, lectures on Hong Kong's current affairs, slide show on churches in China and other features, Chinese kung-fu demonstration, campaign to support some alumni for election to public service and, of course, fellowship dinner gatherings. The objectives of the Federation are: to unite all alumni groups as One corporate body, to promote the welfare of members , to pool all the resources of the graduates and to serve the society at large. In the past five years, the Federation has made steady pro gress in strengthening the ties with all the alumni and alumni groups. The five Founding-MemberAssociations of the Federation are: Chung Chi College Alumni Association, New Asia College Alumni Association, United College Alumni Association, MBA Alumni Association representing the Graduate School Alumni Association and the School of Education Alumni Association. The Chief Representatives o f these Associations served as President cum Chairman of the Federation by rotation, and they have just completed the first round of chairmanship. During the first five years, Representatives of different associations have worked together cohesively, selflessly and coopera tively, demonstrating the spirit o f 'CU One Big Family' 一 a concrete example of uniting all alumni into One corporate body. Furthermore, the Federation also established a means of communication with other alumni groups, including the Graduate Fellowship of CUHK, Chung Chi Executive Club, departmental clubs and other interest groups such as choir and sports clubs. The Federation organizes annually a Chinese New Year Party, a family camp in mid-summer, and a ball in early winter. Other activities include the establishment of an Education Foundation, tree- planting, swimming and other sports activities. The number of participants o f these events keeps growing every year. Recognition should be given to all the Past Presidents of the Federation, the Representatives and members of the Executive Committee for their able leadership and their effort in realizing the Federation's objectives. Alumni of the University are serving the society with their knowledge, skills and expertise. They are beginning to make their mark on the public scene. The growing number of alumni being nominated for the Ten Outstanding Young Persons Awards', being appointed or elected 'District Boardmembers', 'Urban Councillors' and 'Legislative Councillor' and being appointed or invited to serve on various Government 10 RECENT DEVELOPMENTS
