Workshop aimed at providing opportunities for teachers, coaches and student athletes to exchange views and experience on the six selected sports, namely basketball, football, squash, table-tennis, gymnastics and track and field. Speakers included physical education professionals from China, Taiwan and Hong Kong. * The Department of Chemistry organized the following seminars: —'Photoabsorption Cross Section of Oxygen in the Wavelength Region 194-240nm, New Laboratory Measurements and Stratospheric Implication', conducted by Dr. Allan Cheung, Department of Chemistry, University of Hong Kong, on 21st February. 一 ‘The Structure and Reactivity of Molybdenum Cluster Compounds', conducted by Professor Huang Jinling of Fuzhou University on 28th February. * The Department of Music organized: — A Chopin Piano Recital by Ms. Teresita Botelho, Instructor of the Department, on 8th January. - A Trumpet and Bassoon Recital by Mr. Ted Hirakawa and Mr. Terry Ewell, accompanied by Mr. Larry Schipull, on 13th January. — A Part-time Degree Programme Students' Concert on 15th January. — A Piano Lecture-Recital by Professor John Bingham, a famous British pianist, on 22nd January. — A Students' Concert on 23rd January. —A n Organ Recital by Mr. Albert Bolliger, a Swiss organist, on 3rd February. This Recital was co-sponsored by the Hong Kong Arts Festival. 一 A slide-lecture on the 'History of the Organ and Famous Organs' by Mr. Albert Bolliger on 4th February. — A Harp Recital by Ms. Linda Ayella-Semes on 24th February. — A Lecture-Demonstration on the Lute by Mr. Franklin Lei on 26th February. — A Trombone Student's Concert by Mr. Joseph Lee Kwok Ki on 27th February. * The University library System and the British Council jointly sponsored a book exhibition entitled ‘Education Studies' from 17th February to 12th March. Over 250 titles of books and periodicals from twenty-nine British publishers were on display.
