Mr. Andrew George Piper Dr. Albert H. Yee Dr. Martha S. Albert Dr. Robert E. Allinson In keeping with his aim to help relate the best of the East and the West in building a more humane society, his two heros have long been Sun Yat-Sen and Thomas Jefferson. Photography being Dr. Yee's main hobby, he has begun photographic studies of both. At the School of Education, Dr. Yee mainly teaches courses in Educational Psychology with coverage too in Administrative Systems and the Sociology of Education. Among his current research activities is a project on University Goals in Asia. Dr. Ma r t ha S. A l be rt Lecturer , MBA Division Dr. Martha S. Albert received her BS degree from Rutgers University, and both her MS and PhD degrees from the University of New Mexico. She was previously a management consultant and Adjunct Associate Professor at the Robert O. Anderson Schools o f Management, University of New Mexico. During her ten years of university teaching, her consulting work included clients in manufacturing, health care, banking, higher education and small business. Her research interests are in the organizational change processes and in the search for managerial excellence. Dr. Robe rt E. A l l i nson Lecturer, Department of Philosophy Dr. Robert E. Allinson went to public schools in New Haven, Connecticut, U.S.A. and was admitted into Southern Illinois University in Carbondale on a full scholarship. He obtained his BA with Great Distinction in 1964 (double major: Philosophy and Literature) and was the Fulbright nominee from the State of Illinois. He was the recipient of an NDFL(National Defense Foreign Language) Fellowship to study Chinese at Columbia University in New York in 1963, and was awarded an NDEA (National Defense Education Act) Fellowship to study German at the University of Vienna in Austria in 1964. He was awarded a Full Fellowship as Oldright Fellow at the University of Texas, where he received his degrees of MA in literature in 1966 and PhD in Philosophy in 1972 under Charles Hartshorne. He graduated with the Highest Distinction in the History of Philosophy and Metaphysics and Epistemology. During 1967-70 he taught at the University of Texas. Dr. Allinson was appointed Assistant Professor in Philosophy, East-West at the University of the Pacific, California in 1970 , and Assistant Professor at West Virginia State University i n 1971. He was subsequently promoted Associate Professor (1973) and Full Professor (1976). From 1971 to 1977 , Dr. Allinson was appointed Chairman of the Department of Philosophy. In 1973 , Dr. Allinson was invited by National Taiwan University to be Visiting Professor of Philosophy. Dr. Allinson joined this University as Lecturer in Philosophy in 1977 , and has since been very active in research on Western Philosophy, Chines e Philosophy and Comparative Philosophy. He has also participated in the activities of the International Asian Studies Programme and was the University's Exchange Scholar to Soka University, Tokyo in 1983-84. He has been a member of numerous international professional societies, and has been invited to present papers at international conferences in nine countries and has published over forty papers in academic journals. He has been appointed to the Board of Editors of five academic journals: The Journal of Chinese Philosophy (University o f Hawaii); Philosophical Inquiry, An International Quarterly (City University of New York); Filosofia Oggi (University of Genoa, Italy); Revue Independante de Philosophie (Paris); Philosophy and Literature (University of Michigan).
