Dr. Edwin Cheng Dr. J.P. Leung Dr. Mark Lindley Dr. Sham Tsun Kong Chief of a new volume on contemporary Chinese philosophy entitled Chinese Philosophy: Contemporary Approaches for Oxford University Press. He has published poetry in numerous literary journals including the Pancontinental Premier Poets and won the Academy of American Poets' Award and the Arizona State prize for poetry. He has been listed in the Dictionary on International Biography (Cambridge University), Who's Who in Religion, and Who'sWho in the East. Dr. Allinson has been invited to be Visiting Professor in the Department of Philosophy at Fudan University, Shanghai, during the year 1986. Dr. Edw in Cheng Lecturer, MBA Division Dr. Edwin Cheng received his undergraduate education at the University of Hong Kong. Upon graduation with a BSc (Eng) degree (First Class Honours) in Industrial Engineering, Dr. Cheng went to England to further his studies. He attended the University of Birmingham, where he earned his MSc degree in Industrial Management. He was then awarded a Croucher Foundation Scholarship to carry out research in operational research at the University of Cambridge, where he obtained his PhD degree. After a year of postdoctoral work at the Loughborough University of Technology in England, Dr. Cheng was appointed Lecturer in Industrial and Systems Engineering at the National University of Singapore. Dr. Cheng joined the MBA Division of this University as Lecturer in 1985. His research interests are in job shop simulation, queuing theory, and production and inventory management. He has published some twenty papers in various international journals and conference proceedings. Dr. J.P. Leung Lecturer, Department of Psychology Dr. J.P. Leung was admitted to this University in 1976 and was a student of Chung Chi College, majoring in Social Work. Half a year later, he left Hong Kong to continue his university education in New Zealand. He received his BA degree in Psychology from Massey University in the North Island and was awarded a Massey Scholarship for his outstanding academic performance. Dr. Leung took up graduate studies at the same University and obtained his BA (Hons) degree with First Class Honours in 1981 and PhD degree in Psychology in 1984. He then worked as a Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Canterbury in the South Island, undertaking a research project on ‘the application of micro-computer in the teaching of reading skills to mental retarded children'. Dr. Leung joined this University as Lecturer in Psychology in 1985. While at the graduate school, Dr. Leung was actively involved in various research projects and worked as a demonstrator in the Department of Psychology. He was the Student Representative in 1983-84 to the New Zealand Psychological Society, representing all the psychology graduate students of New Zealand. Dr. Leung is interested in many areas of Psychology, especially in learning theories and their applications. He has investigated factors that affected choice behaviour, using animals as subjects; and his study on the application of learning theories focused on behaviour modification, conducting research on smoking cessation and acuity visual training in myopic persons. Dr. Ma rk L i nd l ey Lecturer, Department of Music Dr. Mark Lindley took his degrees of AB (in liberal arts) at Harvard College, MS (in harpsichord) at Julliard School of Music, and MPhil and PhD (in historical musicology) at Columbia University.
