Anniversary Banquet — Pearl Reunion The 30th anniversary banquet, Pearl Reunion, wa s held on 16th October at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre w i t h an attendance of over 1,000. Guest s included council members, honorary graduates of 1993, founders and friends of the University, University alumni, staff, and students. The Patron of the banquet was Mrs. Lavender Patten, who, i n her opening address, congratulated the Universit y on its achievements over the las t 30 years and urged it to continue to join hands w i t h the community i n a concerted effort to brin g a brighter future for Hong Kong. The banquet also saw the inauguration of the University Convocation, and the presentation of donations to the CUHK A l umni Fund an d the Hong Kong Cancer Institute. Mr. Chung King-Fai, Mr. Michael Hu i and Ms. Lina Yan Hau-Yee, all alumni of the University, served as MCs of th e banquet. The night's programme consisted of 10 items, including an anniversary cake cutting ceremony, a dance, and a luck y draw w i t h many gran d prizes.
