Winning a Debate in Putonghua The Chinese University vs. Tongji University The 199 5Hong Kong-Shanghai intervarsity debating contest between The Chinese University o f Hong Kong and Tongji University in Shanghai took place on 1st August at Sh a Ti n Ne w Town Plaza. Th e CUHK Putonghua debating team spoke for the motion Technology advances are th e essential guarantee fo r th e development o f mankind', and won by a margin of two t o one. Its first two MFA graduates, sculptor Camille Yeung Sau Ying and oi l painter L i Yau Mang, displayed their works at New Asia College's Hui Gallery from 26th Ma y t o 7th June and from 9th t o 22nd June 1995 respectively. Cam i l l e Yeung graduated f r om CUHK with a BA degree in fine arts. With 'The Most Promising Artist Award' in the sculpture division of the Philippe Charriol Foundation, Hong Kong, her talent in her chosen field o f sculpture started t o gain recognition. L i Yau Mang received his B A degree from th e Guangzhou Academy o f Fine Arts' Department o f Oil Painting in 1991.
