Prof. Wu Guoguang Assistant Professor Department of G o v e r n m e nt and Public A d m i n i s t r a t i o n B om in Shandong, China, Prof. Wu Guoguang graduated from Peking University i n 1982 and earned his master's degree f r om the graduate school of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences in 1984. He then wo r k e d as an assistant to the president of the academy for a short time before joining the People's Daily in Beijing, first as a political commentator and then as chief editor at the editorial and commentary desk. From 1986 to 1989 Prof. W u was a member of a political reform advisory team for the Chinese Prime Minister, Zhao Ziyang. He was a Nimen Fellow at Harvard University in 1989 and a Luce Fellow at Columbia University in 1990 , and received his Ph.D. degree in politics from Princeton University in 1995. Before joining the Department of Government and Public Administration at The Chinese University of H o ng Ko n g i n January 1996, he was a postdoctoral fellow at the Fairbank Center for East Asian Research at Harvard University. Prof. W u has published four books and numerous articles. The focus of his teaching and research is international politics and political transition towards democracy. Professional Appointments Prof. An t hony Leong Siew Y i n Professor of Anatomical and C l i n i c al Pathology Prof. Anthony Leong Siew Yin has been appointed professor of anatomical and clinical pathology from 11th March 1996. Prof. Leong was bo r n in Singapore. He received his MBBS degree i n 1969 from the University of Malaya, to which he returned as lecturer and clinical specialist after a two-year stint as visiting fellow at the University of Washington. He then wen t on to Australia, where he obtained his MD degree in 1983 f r om the University of Adelaide. Prof. Leong wo r k e d in Australia for the following 20 years, serving different hospitals such as the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, the South Australian Institute of Technology, the University of Queensland, the Royal Adelaide Hospital, and the Institute of Medical and Veterinary Science.
