Prof, Hen ry Wong Nai-ching Professor of chemistry Prof. Henry Wong Nai-ching has been appointed professor of chemistry f r om 1st October 1996. Prof. Wong obtained his B.Sc. from The Chinese University of Hong Kong i n 1973 and his Ph.D. from the University of London in 1976. He became a fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry and a Chartered Chemist in 1985. I n 1994, he received his D.Sc. from the University of London. From 1976 to 1982, Prof. Wong served as research fellow at various institutions, namely Harvard University, th e University of London, an d the Shanghai Institute of Organic Chemistry. He was lecturer at the then Hong Kong Polytechnic ( n ow renamed Ho n g Kong Polytechnic University) fo r a year before joining The Chinese University as lecturer in the Department of Chemistry in 1983. He was promoted to the rank of senior lecturer in 1988 , and reader in 1992. Prof. Wong Wing-shing Professor of Information Engineering Prof. Wo n g W i n g - s h i n g has been a p p o i n t e d professor o f information engineering from 1st October 1996. Prof. Wong obtained his BA and MA degrees f r om Yale University in 1976, and his MS and Ph.D. from Harvard University in 1978 and 1980 respectively. He is a senior member of IEEE and a HKIE Fellow. Prof. Wong wo r ked as senior research engineer for Scientific Systems, Inc. f r om 1980 to 1982. He was under the employment of AT&T Bell Labs from 1982 to 1992, first as a member of technical staff and then as supervisor. He was also associate editor of the IEEE Transactions of Automatic Control. Prof. W o n g j o i n e d t he University as reader in the Department of Information Engineering in 1992.
