Un i v e r s i t y Bu r s a r Mr. Terence C.W. Chan has been appo i n t e d University Bursar from 15th October 1996. A c h a r t e r e d a c c o u n t a nt b y profession, Mr. Ch a n graduated f r om the University of Ho n g Kong. He was awarded the first prize in auditing in the professional examination of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of England and Wales in 1977. Mr. Chan first joined the Bursar's Office in the University in 1984. He was promoted to Deputy Bursar in 1990. He thereafter left the University to be finance manager of the Generation Business Group of China Light and Power Company, an d was in charge of financial and budgetary control prior t o assuming the office of the University Bursar. Mr. Chan is a fellow of th e Ho ng Kong Society of Accountants and the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Australia. Un i v e r s i t y D e an o f S t uden t s Prof. Kwok Siu-tong, professor in the History Department, has been appointed University De an of Students f r o m 21st Au g u s t 1996 to 31st J u l y 1998. P r o f. K w o k graduated with a BA in history f r om The Chinese University in 1972 , and obtained his MA and Ph.D. i n history f r om the University of California at Berkeley in 1974 and 1981 respectively. H e j o i n ed the University's De p a r t me nt of History as assistant lecturer in 1977, an d was promoted to lecturer rank in 1981 and senior lecturer rank in 1992. Prof. Kwok was dean of students of Chung Chi College in 1992- 93. D e a n o f Me d i c i ne P r o f. J o s e ph C.K. Lee, p r o f e s s o r o f anatomical and cellula r pathology, has been elected dean of the Faculty of Medicine for three years from 1st July 1996. D e a n o f Bus i ness A d m i n i s t r a t i on Prof. Lee Kam-hon, professor of marketing, has been re-elected dean of business administration for three years f r om 1st August 1996. D e a n o f Soc i al Science Prof. Kenneth K.L. Chau, professor of social w o r k , has been elected dean of social science f r om 2nd October 1996 to 31st July 1999.
