University's fine arts students, including Chinese calligraphy , Chinese paintings, watercolour paintings, sketches, prints, sculptures, acrylics, and pottery. Chung Chi Hosts Student Delegations from Taiwan and Shanghai Chung Chi College hosted two student visit programmes in August to give students more cross-cultural experience. The theme o f the first programme, which took place from 13th to 20th August, was environmental protection. Chung Chi students played host to a delegation from the Na t i o n a l T a i w a n Un i v e r s i t y a n d organized visits to electricity stations, sewage treatment plants, and reclamation sites. Then from 18th to 27th August, Chung Chi students received a delegation f r om Shanghai's Fuda n Un i v e r s i t y u n d er a p r o g r amme e n t i t l ed ' Women and th e Family'. The students visited centres that provide service to women and families in need, including Po Leung Kuk, the Family Life Ed u c a t i on Resource Centre, and Harmony House. New Asia Student Exchange Activities Yale — New As ia Ex c h a n g e The undergraduate exchange programme b e t we en N e w Asia College an d Yale University adopted 'Urban Issues' as this year's theme to enable students to have a better understanding of issues such as housing, medical care, and employment in Hong Kong and major cities in the USA. I n February 1996, eight Ne w Asia students visited Yale University where they presented papers on Hong Kong's urban issues. They also toured New York City and Washington D.C. Their visit was repaid a month later by six Yale undergraduates wh o presented reports on different urban issues in their home country at a symposium held at the University, and who also toured Hong Kong and Shenzhen. The students also visited places like the New Airport Core Project Exhibition Centre , the Bank of China, and the Hong Kong Productivity Council.
