Ho n g Kong Education Department, spoke on ' I n n o v a t i ve Teaching Me t h o d s a n d Ma n a g eme n t : P r omo t e Excellence i n H o n g K o n g ' s E d u c a t i o n' d u r i n g the C h u n g C h i Co l l e g e L i f e L u n c h e o n Gathering on 15th October 1997. • The first of the lecture series 'Unexplored Treasure: I n f o r m a t i on T e c h n o l o g y Ed u c a t i o n ' , l a u n c h ed b y the Facult y of Education and the H o n g Ko ng Institute of Educational Research, took place on 1st November 1997. • Chinese artist Zhong Xi gave a talk on 'The Traditional "Brush and I n k" Traces i n the C r e a t i on of P r i n t - m a k i n g' a f t er the opening ceremony of his exhibition on 5th January 1998. • Prof. Wong Mingda, research fellow of the Zhejiang Provincia l Institute of Cultural Relics and Archaeology, gave a tal k on 'Problems Relating to the Liangzh u Jades Excavated f r om Yuhang, Zhejiang' on 10th Ma r c h 1998. Visiting Scholars • Dr. Da v id H o Da-I, director of the Aa r on D i amo n d A I DS Research Center in N e w York a nd professo r of The Rockefeller University, visited The Chinese University as distinguished visiting scholar of United College i n earl y Decembe r 1997, a nd delivered a public lecture on T h e A I D S Epidemic and Prospects for Control' on 8th December. • Prof. Marshall M . Lih, division director for engineering educatio n and centers at the National Science Foundation, US, visited C h u n g C h i College f r o m 10th to 24th J anua r y 1998 as Siu L i en L i n g Wo n g Visiting Fellow 1997-98, and delivered a s pee ch o n ' F a c i n g N e w Ch a l l e n g e s : Cultivating Talents for the 21st Century' at the c o l l ege ' s a n n u al e d u c a t i o n conference.
