C U H K A c c o u n t a n c y P r o g r a m me Re c e i v e s F u l l H K S A P r o f e s s i o n a l A c c r e d i t a t i on T h e U n i v e r s i t y 's B B A p r o g r a m me i n p r o f e s s i o n al a c c o u n t a n c y w a s g r a n t e d u n c o n d i t i o n a l accreditation b y th e Co u n c il of the H o n g K o n g Society of Ac c o u n t a n t s ( HKSA) i n December 1997. This means that graduates of the p r o g r amme are eligible t o register as students of the H K S A Professional Programme. The H K S A w i l l adop t a n e w professional accreditation system f r om 1999 to replace the J o i n t E x a m i n a t i on S c h em e w i t h t h e A s s o c i a t i on of C h a r t e r e d C e r t i f i ed Accountants i n H o n g Ko n g , w h i c h w i l l be t e r m i n a t e d i n 2001. To be a d m i t t e d as a memb e r of the H K S A u n d er th e n e w system, a candidate has to f u l f i l the requirement s of obtaining pre-entry education (a recognized a c c o u n t i n g d e g r e e ) , a c q u i r i n g p r a c t i c al experience, u n d e r t a k i n g the Professional P r o g r a mm e , a n d p a s s i ng t he F i n a l Professional Examination. A r t E x h i b i t i o ns Art Museum Exhibitions The A r t M u s e u m organized three exhibitions between October 1997 a nd M a y 1998: T h e m e s a n d Variations: Th e Z i s h a Pottery of C h e n M i n g y u a n ' wa s h e l d f r o m 25th O c t o b e r 1997 t o 4 t h J a n u a r y 1998. T h e e x h i b i t i on wa s j o i n t l y o r g a n i z ed w i t h the Shanghai Mu s e um. C h e n M i n g y u a n , a v e r y i n f l u e n t i al figure i n the history of Y i x i ng pottery , l i v e d i n the early Q i n g period. A m o n g the m a n y Y i x i ng potter s of the M i n g and Q i n g periods, f e w c o u l d r i v a l h is i n v e n t i v e n e s s a n d t e c h n i c a l v i r t u o s i t y . O n e h u n d r e d r e p r e s e n t a t i ve p i e c e s b e a r i n g C h e n M i n g y u a n 's i n s c r i p t i o ns a n d seals w e r e selected b y the t w o mu s e ums fo r display. They were d i v i d e d into f o u r groups: objects for the scholar' s table, archaistic vessels, tea wares, a nd trompe I'oei l pieces. ' T h e I m p e r i al Co n n e c t i o n: Co u r t - r e l a t e d Chinese S n u ff Bottles f r om the H u m p h r e y K.F. Co l l e c t i o n ' was h e l d f r om 17th Januar y to 24th Februar y 1998. S n u f f b o t t l e s w e r e s p e c i a l ly p r o d u c e d to r e p l a c e s m a l l m e d i c i n e b o t t l es i n o r d e r to b e t t e r preserve the snuff. T h r o u g h the continuous development of forms, wo r kma n s h i p, a n d the use of material s d u r i n g t h e r e i g ns of K a n g x i , Yongzheng, a n d Q i a n l o n g, s n u f f b o t t l es b e c a m e a distinctive art f o r m a n d is regarded as a m i c r o c o sm of traditional Chinese culture .
