The Un i v e r s i t y a nd the 50 p a r t i c i p a t i n g p r i ma ry a n d secondary schools of the project proper, i n a partnership of e q u a l i t y, m u t u a l t r u s t a n d respect, d e s i gn a n d i mp l eme nt measures fo r i mp r o v eme n t o n all fronts. T h r o u g h this the y also p l o t the course of H o n g Kong's q u a l i t y education development. The project has the full support of Prof. Levin, w h o is n o w its D i s t i n g u i s h e d Project Adviser. Its researc h a n d d e v e l o p m e n t staff ar e d r a w n f r o m d i f f e r e n t d e p a r t me n ts of the Fa c u l ty of Education, w h o b r i n g to the project expertis e i n c u r r i c u l u m a n d teaching, a dm i n i s t r a t i o n , parent-school cooperation, a nd other aspects of school development . They f o rm a tea m w i t h t he f u l l - t i me s c h o ol d e v e l o p m e nt o f f i c e rs a n d researchers to p r o v i de consultatio n a nd d e v e l o pme n t services to the p r i ma r y a nd secondary schools. Team memb e r s p a y regular visits to the schools to p r o v i d e the m o t i v a t i o n , k n o w l e d g e , a n d s k i l l s necessary f o r r e f o r m , to h e l p staff u n d e r s t a n d the p r i n c i p l es a n d values of ASP, a n d to assist t h em i n setting c o mm o n goals, p r o m o t i n g the s p i r i t of equal rights a nd responsibilities , a nd p u t t i n g to good use the talent of each memb er of the school c ommu n i t y . The team also arrang e talks a nd s ymp o s i ums on the latest developments i n local a nd overseas education for the staff. The schoo l d e v e l o pme n t officers w i l l participate i n discussions o n school i mp r o v eme nt p r o g r amme s. Their m o d e of p a r t i c i p a t i o n w i l l generate a series o f action research w h i c h w i l l resul t i n the creation of n ew knowledge.
