The test is more sensitive and accurate than the standard tests and results can be obtained immediately. Services to the Community Mainland Patients in Poverty Receive Help The Y uWing Rehabilitation Fund wa s e s t a b l i s h e d b y t he D e p a r t me n t o f Orthopaedics and Traumatology on 18t h Ap r il 2000 t o p r o v i d e f r e e me d i c al services to disabled person s in poverty as well as burns patients o n the mainland. The project has been made possible b ya generous donation of $2 million from a Mr. Law. For t h e c omi ng t h r e ye a r s , it is p l a n n ed t hat t h e f u n d will s u p p o rt orthopaedic surgery for 100 patients and p r ov i de rehabilitation services t o 200 patients. It will also help specific localities set u p their own rehabilitation trainin g facilities. Short c ou r s e s i n basic rehabilitation will thus be organized for local health care workers; prosthesis an d orthotic training an d service centres will also be set up to support patients. The centre i s o p e r a t ed b y t he University and funded by the Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust.
