I t w ill also be easier to m o n ito r th e p ro g re s s o f p ro je c ts a n d p r e s s u r iz e c o n tra c to rs in to h e e d in g the e n v iro n m e n ta l aspects o f th e ir unde rta king s. USCE Agenda For the USCE, tasks at hand in clud e delineating the U n iv e rs ity 's greening and tree fe llin g policy, d ra w in g u p p ro c e d u re s a n d g u id e lin e s fo r d e c is io n -m a k in g , d e le g a tin g re s p o n s ib ilitie s , m o n it o r in g , a n d im p le m e n t in g f e ll in g com pensation and p o st-p la n tin g preservation. Prof. Lam hopes tha t the steering comm ittee w ill fo rtify lin k s w ith the colleges b y in c lu d in g m e m b e rs o f th e c o lle g ia te e n v ir o n m e n t comm ittees. He said, ‘The colleges have done a lo t in e n v iro nm e n ta l p ro te c tio n and the y have teachers, students and a lum n i at th e ir disposal. They are valuable partners to have in developing a sustainable campus. I hope th a t the y w ill give m e tim e d u r in g th e ir w e e k ly o r m o n th ly assemblies to introdu ce the comm ittee's w o rk to d ru m u p s u p p o rt fo r o u r w o rk .'
