Chemistry Ph.D. Candidate Wins Poster Award A fourth year Ph.D. student of the Department of Chemistry, Ms. Lo Pui-chi, received the Professor Sunney I. Chan Poster Award in the 8th International Symposium for Chinese Organic Chemists and the 5th International Symposium for Chinese Inorganic Chemists held from 19th to 22nd December 2004 on campus. Out of a total of 193 posters, three were selected for this award and Ms. Lo was the only recip ien t from Hong Kong. The research results were pub lished in the prestigious journal Chemi st r y — A European J o u r n a l and the paper was classified as a 'Very Important Paper (VIP)'. CUBA Team Won Business Adm inistration Paper Competition A team of Year 3 CUBA students won this year's Business Administration Paper Competition organized by The Hong Kong Federation of Business Students. They were Catherine Chan, Ceci Yau and Steve Leung from the Department of Finance, and Christine Cheung of the BBA Programme. Their marketing objective was to convince target customers that their client insurance company was the most caring and professional global insurer to be relied on as life partner.
