Student Achievements CUHK Teams Shine at National University Sports Championships One Gold and Three Silvers at National Badminton and Tennis Tournaments In the National Badminton Championship, the CUHK was the champion of the men's teams in Group B (Division A), the first runner-up i n the mixed double and men's double (both Division A), and the second runner-up in the men's single and ladies single (both D i v i s i on A). In tennis, CUHK was first runner-up i n the men's double ( D i v i s i on B), f o u r t h o f the w ome n 's teams (Division A), and seventh i n the men's single ( D i v i s i on B). Bot h teams received the Sports Ethics and Fair Play Prize. The N i n t h Na t i o n al Un i v e r s i ty Students Badminton Championshi p took place from 25th to 30th July 2005 at L i a o n i ng U n i v e r s i t y of Pe t r o l e um and Chemical Technology. There we re 43 p a r t i c i p a t i n g teams and some 300 athletes. The Tenth National University Tennis Championships took place from 25th to 31st July at t he C h i n a U n i v e r s i t y of M i n i n g a nd Technology in Xuzhou. Close to 600 athletes from 57 institutions participated in the event. Second Runner-up in Men's Handball Championships The Ch i n e s e U n i v e r s i t y h a n d b a ll t e am s o u t p e r f o r m e d t h e i r o p p o n e n t s at the 21st National University Handball Championships. The C U HK men's team wa s 2nd runner-up of D i v i s i o n A and the w ome n 's team, f i f t h i n Division B. Four C U H K handball players also received the Sports Ethics and Fair Play Prize. CUHK Men's Team Clinch Intervarsity Rowing Championship for Fifth Consecutive Year The 19th An n u a l Intervarsity Rowing Championships were held on 18th September 2005 at the Shing M u n River Row i ng Centre. The t wo contestants 一 CUHK and H K U 一 competed in a total of five events, wh i c h included the men's coxe d four, mixed quadruple and four, as well as the women' s coxed fou r and men's coxed eight races.
