Chinese University Bulletin Spring · Summer 2007 14 International Exposure Learning at the school is emphasized by actual exposure and student involvement. Earlier this year, a team comprising five first-year JD students participated in the 4th Annual Willem C. Vis (East) International Commercial Arbitration Moot which was co-organized by CUHK. This annual competition, which consists of a ‘mother event’ in Vienna and a ‘daughter event’ in Hong Kong, is the biggest international moot competition on international trade law. Although the students did not have the benefit of years of legal training which their competitors from 44 other law schools did, CUHK became the first university from Hong Kong ever to receive awards for both the oral and the written components of the competition.
