Green Building The insulated glass units on the southern façade of the new Centralized Science Laboratories Building can control heat gain and allow visible light to pass while blocking and reflecting a certain amount of ultraviolet and infrared light. This reduces the need for air-conditioning and artificial illumination. The building also features daylight sensors and an air- conditioning system with an efficient variable air volume design.
