Cambridge Deputy VC Visits CUHK P rof. Gordon Johnson, Deput y Vice - Chancellor of the University of Cambridge and President of Wolfson College, and Mrs. Johnson paid a return visit to CUHK on 20 March to learn about the University's lastest developments, following the visit by a CUHK delegation to Cambridge in February this year. School of Public Health Builds Mainland Links A number of memoranda of understanding (MOUs) were signed in April between centres at the University's School of Public Health (SPH) and academic institutions or health service organizations in mainland China. The Centre for Clinical Trials of the SPH signed an MOU with the School of Pharmacy of Fudan University. The memorandum allows the two parties to develop collaboration in research and other academic activities. The Stanley Ho Centre for Emerging Infectious Diseases of the SPH signed an MOU with the Institute of Microbiology, Chinese Academy of Sciences and pledged to consolidate collaboration in scientific research. The SPH entered into a partnership with Chongqing Municipality in China and the city of Cardiff in the UK. Following the signing of the MOU, the trio will arrange visits, doctor training, and research collaborations. Prof. Sian Griffiths (front row, 1st right), director of SPH and Dr. Tony Jewell (front row, 2nd right), chief medical officer of Wales, believed closer working links will be established between these places.
