Short and Sweet: Exchange Programmes of a Briefer Duration In 2007–08, over 600 CUHK students went on term-long or year-long exchange, amounting to 22% of the University's annual student intake. Believing that international exposure is an important part of whole-person education, the University endeavours to give more students overseas experience through short-term exchange programmes, such as the New Asia College-Yale University Student Exchange Programme (YUNA). Established in 1993, the YUNA programme is aimed at enhancing interaction between students from CUHK and Yale. Each year, eight selected students from each side are required to conduct theme-related research and visit each other's colleges to report their findings. 'Globalization and Social Identity' was the topic explored in the 15th YUNA programme in 2008. Eight NA students paid a two-week visit to Yale to report their findings at a symposium. During their trip, they also visited New York City and Washington, D.C. In March, the eight NA participants and the College staff played host to eight Yale students visiting Kong Kong. By means of a talk, symposium, a visit to the ICAC, a chat with Mrs. Anson Chan, the students explored the meaning and impact of globalization.
