The 65th Congregation for the Conferment of Degrees 19 The 65th Congre ation Prof. Louis J. Ignarro Prof. Louis J. Ignarro, a distinguished molecular and medical pharmacologist and 1998 Nobel Laureate in Physiology or Medicine, is currently Distinguished Professor of Pharmacology at the University of California at Los Angeles, and an Honorary Professor of Medicine at CUHK. The University conferred upon Prof. Ignarro the degree of Doctor of Science, honoris causa , in recognition of his valuable advice and support to CUHK in the research and development of medicine and science. Prof. Yang Tzu-yow Henry Professor Yang Tzu-yow Henry is a world-renowned aerospace engineer and Chancellor of the University of California at Santa Barbara. Apart from prominent achievements in aeronautics and astronautics, Prof. Yang has made enormous contributions to university education and the governance review of CUHK by offering invaluable advice to the University Council. The University conferred upon Prof. Yang the degree of Doctor of Science, honoris causa , in recognition of his remarkable contributions to promoting diversity in higher education, and his unstinting support for the academic development of the University.
