20   Chinese University Bulletin No. 1, 2015 T he 76th and 77th Congregations for the Conferment of Degrees were held on 20 November and 4 December 2014, respectively. Dr. Vincent H.C. Cheng , Chairman of the Council, presided over the congregations and conferred 10,178 honorary, higher and first degrees. CUHK conferred honorary doctorates on seven distinguished persons in recognition of their outstanding contributions to academic and cultural progress, the promotion of community welfare, and the development of CUHK.
