( ' ( ! )! & * & $ + The grade point average of a student’s course work shall be computed by dividing the total weighted converted points for courses taken by the total number of units attempted inclusive of courses failed, where the weighted converted points are converted points multiplied by the number of units of the course concerned. 9.3 Notwithstanding Regulation 9.2 above, an OISP student taking a course offered by the New Asia Yale-in-China Chinese Language Centre may within two weeks after the beginning of the teaching term, apply to the New Asia Yale-in-China Chinese Language Centre to have his assessment result in that course reported on a Pass/Fail basis. The course grade for a student who has taken this option will be either ‘pass (PA)’ or ‘fail (FA)’, and will not be included in the calculation of the grade point average. 9.4 A student who has gained a ‘pass’ or above in a course shall earn the unit/s of that course. )* (not applicable to auditing students) 10.1 Course examinations A student shall take course examinations, if prescribed by the teacher/s concerned, in the form of written, practical or oral assessment, or any combination thereof.
