It was set up by a grant from the Lee Hysan Foundation and support from other agencies, including the International Academy of Hysan Foundation, the International Academy of Pathology, and the International Association of Chinese Pathologists as well as local philanthropists. Based at the Department of Anatomical and Cellular Pathology, it organizes junior and senior fellowship programmes for pathologists from mainland China to undergo clinical training at The Chinese University of Hong Kong.
