388 Part 7 • University Ordinance and Regulations * Applicants who do not possess the required results in Advanced Supplementary Chinese Language & Culture but who have obtained outstanding results in other subjects may, at the discretion of individual faculties, be exempted from this language requirement and be admitted to the programme concerned after passing a language test arranged by the University. I. General A. Applicants seeking admission to a course of study leading to a bachelor’s degree of the University shall have satisfied the minimum entrance requirements of the University and the programme concerned as stipulated in these regulations. B. Applicants seeking admission on the strength of Hong Kong Advanced Level Examination results shall apply for admission in accordance with the stipulations in Section II. C. Applicants seeking admission on the strength of qualifications other than Hong Kong Advanced Level Examination results shall apply for admission in accordance with the stipulations in Section III. II. Admission on the Strength of Hong Kong Advanced Level Examination Results A. Minimum University requirements for application Applicants shall 1. have obtained in one sitting of the Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination (HKCEE) grade E or above in at least seven subjects including two language subjects (Chinese Language, English Language, French or German); and 2. have obtained in one sitting of the Hong Kong Advanced Level Examination (HKALE) grade E or above in: a. Advanced Supplementary Level Chinese Language & Culture*; and b. Advanced Supplementary Level Use of English; and c. at least two Advanced Level subjects, or one Advanced Level and two Advanced Supplementary Level subjects.
