It aims to promote basic research and application development in the field of epithelial cell biology in China. Thecentre encouragesinterdisciplinary collaboration and international networking with research activities emphasizing functional genomics, exocine physiology, reproductive biology, cancer biology, immunology, and Chinese medicine. Collabo rative projects sup por ted by the NSFC, th e Rockefeller Foundation, the Research Grants Council, and the Innovation and Technology Fund arecurrently being undertaken. The centre is currently collaborating with numerous institutions in Hong Kong, mainland China and overseas.
