PostgraduateStudies 267 for full-time study and two to three yearsfor part-time. The diplomaprogrammes last one year for full-time students and one to two years for part-time students. All programmes in the Graduate School are provided through 54 graduate division s (viz. Persons who have graduated with good honours degrees from recognized universities and who have the capacity for research may apply for admission to the above postgraduate p rogrammes. Starting from 2000–1,all newly-admitted students arerequired to achieve a certain level of competence in IT. They are required to pass the IT Proficiency Test before they graduate. If they pass, ‘IT Proficiency Passed’ will be recorded on the transcripts.If they fail, they arerequired to attend summer intensive courses in IT.
