PostgraduateStudies• SocialScience 315 MArch Prog ramme The Programme leads to a professional degree in architecture. It consists of two parts: studios and courses. The instruction of design studio is based on the system of thematic studios, which are organized primarily on the basis of design position irrespective of academic years. MArch I students have to select one studio each term from four studios: habitation, technics, tectonics, and urbanization. MArch II students work for two terms within a studio related to their final project. The theoretic cour ses ar e gro uped into fo ur ar eas: commun icatio n, humanities, technology and professional practice. Students are required to take a set of core courses and can choose from a br oad range of electives. They can also take elective courses offered by other departments. In thefirst year of study, students arerequired to take one of the research studies courses offered by facultymembers based on their current research projects. The final projectisa one-year independent research and design work in which stud ents can demonstrate their ability in defining a study topic, conducting research, formulating a design programme, and developing it into a design project.
