Requirements of the participating department MA Programme in Women’s Studies This programme aims to teach students the basic theories of women’s studies and to equip them with essentialanalytical toolsfor understanding gender issues. It shall familiar ize them with the analy sis of gend er role con struction and its importance in shaping human behaviour, social development and public policy. The curriculum is designed to provide a broad base of understanding for indiv iduals who have little or no prior exp osure to women’s studies in their undergraduate training. Media,Sex and Violence Postgradua te Diploma in Women’s S tudies (Part-time) Jointly organized by The Chinese University of Hong Kong, the University of Michigan, and the Chinese Women’s College, the programme is contingentupon the financial support in full by a Henry Luce Foundation grant. The programme is d esigned specifically for mainland Chinese faculty in the social sciences and the humanities. It offers systematic training in knowledge and skillsnecessary for development of leadership and scholarship in women’s studies.The two-year course isscheduled for intensivelearning during the summer and spring vacations at the Chinese Women’s College, Beijing. * Required courses
