CUHKOrdinance 375 (2) No other appointmen t made under the repealed Ordinance shall be affected by the repeal but shall, unless otherwise varied, continue on thesame termsand conditions as if this Ordinance had not been enacted. (3) All property, whether movable or immovable, rights and privileges vested in the University immediately prior to the commencement of this Ordinance shall continue to be vested in the Univ ersity o n the terms and conditions, if any, on which the same were then vested at th at date, and th e Univ ersity shall con tin ue to be sub ject to the obligations and liabilities to which it was subject immediately prior to the commencement of this Ordinance. (4) Nothing in this Ordinanceshall affect or be deemed to affect the rights of the Central People’s Government or the rights of the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region under the BasicLaw or other laws or the rights of any body politic or corporate or of any other persons except such as ar e mentioned in this Ordinance and those claiming by, from or under them. Schedule 1 [ss. 2 & 13(2).] STATUTES OF THE CHINESE UNIVERSITY OF HONG KONG STATUTE 1 Interpretation In these Statutes, unless the context otherwise requires — “College” means a constituent College of the University as provided by section 3 and “Colleges” shall be construed accordingly; “Dean” means the Dean of a Faculty or of the Graduate School, as the case may be; “Department” means a Department of a Faculty established by the Council on the recommendation of the Senate and “Departments” shall be construed accordingly; “Graduate School” means the Graduate School of the University; “Ordinance” means The Chinese University of Hong Kong Ordinance 1976; “unit” means an institution established or formed by the Council under section 12 of theOrdinance. STATUTE 2 Congregations 1. Thetime, place and procedureof theCongregations of the wholeUniversity shall be determined by the Chancellor.
