(c) Health and Society and General Education courses. (d) Professional Knowledge of the system panels. The final mark for Professional Knowledge is composed of: (I) Continuous assessment (25%) in any format throughout the year as and if considered appropriate by the system panels involved in second-year teaching. (II) End-of-panel assessment (75%). Overall pass in Professional Knowledge requires: 1. At least 50% achieved in overall kn owledge-based assessment. Students who fail to obtain an overall of 50% shall be required to repeat Medical Year 2; and 2. At least 40% achiev ed in th e assessment of each system panel. Students who have scored below 40% in any of the system panel assessmentshallbe required to takethe supplementary examination of that panel. Students who fail to score 50% in any supplementary examination shall be required to repeat Medical Year 2. 5.7 SupplementaryExamination and remedial arrangements (a) Students who do not satisfy the requirements prescribed by the Skills Mod ules and the Selected Stu dy Mod ules shall be r equir ed to do remedial work within a prescribed period. (b) The supplementary examination of knowledge-based system panels is to be held in late June of th e same year. Stud ents who fail the supplementary examination shall be required to repeat Medical Year 2. 5.8 Promotion to Medical Year 3 Students who have satisfied the following course requirements and passed the requisite assessments shall be promoted to Medical Year 3: (a) having satisfied the course requirements of Selected Study Modules; (b) having satisfied thecourse requirements of the Skills Modules (Clinical Methods, Communication Skills and Life Long Learning Skills); (c) pass in Health and Society; and (d) overall pass in Professional Knowledge. Medical Year 3 (Second Professional Examination) 5.9 Medical Year 3 students shall be assessed on the following: (a) Course requirements prescribed by Selected Study Modules. (b) Co urse requirements p rescrib ed by the Skills Mo dules (Clinical Methods, Communication Skills and Life Long Learning Skills). (c) Course requirements prescribed by Health and Society. (d) Professional Knowledge consisting of: (I) Knowledge-based assessments (5 0% of overall final mar ks) by the system panels involved in third-year teaching. The final mark for Professional Knowledge is composed of: a. Continuous assessment (25%) in any format throughout the year as and if consider ed appropriate by the system pan els involved in third-year teaching.
