Drawing from the fields of accounting, economics, and finance, the centre’s research aims to address how Asia’s various institutional environments shape the governance and economic behaviours of corporations and their agents. To achieve the stated mission, the centre will (1) sponsor activities that help to build the needed infrastructures for high quality research, (2) provide a platform for scholarly exchanges of research results, and (3) intermediate knowledge transfer between researchers and business communities. (1) Research infrastructure The centre sponsors the creation of databases that lead to high quality research on important corporate governance issues. (2) Scholarly exchanges The centre sponsors scholarly networks and visits that facilitate research collaboration, and hosts academic workshops and international conferences that promote quality research on corporate governance issues. (3) Knowledge intermediation The centre sponsors case studies and book projects that enrich education and training programmes for business leaders and government policy- makers. It also provides consulting services and hosts workshops and forums that cater for business communities, policy-making bodies, and business students. The centre will facilitate communication among researchers, practitioners, government officials, and other related parties. Research findings are published in scholarly publications and disseminated via forums, conferences, and executive training programmes.
