Archive for Phenomenology and Contemporary Philosophy Tex.: 2609 7066 Fax.: 2603 5323 E-mail: Phen-archive@cuhk.edu.hk The Archive for Phenomenology and Contemporary Philosophy was established recently in 2005 under the auspices of the Department of Philosophy and with the support of the Edwin S.L. Cheng Research Fund for General Education and Philosophy. Phenomenology is an influential contemporary philosophical movement, which finds application and repercussions in the most diverse fields of studies, including literature, film and theatre studies, sociology, linguistics, religious studies, architecture, law, education, medicine and nursing etc. The Department of Philosophy has accumulated much experience in phenomenology studies and has a strong contact network both internationally and nationally. With this as background, the archive will devote itself mainly to collecting, editing, and translating phenomenology classics and promoting research on phenomenology and related issues. A working library for phenomenological research will be established and a half-yearly bulletin for phenomenology and contemporary philosophy will be published. Other regular activities include maintaining a website, liaising and collaborating with major phenomenology- related institutions worldwide, organizing international conferences, and of national symposia for scholars from mainland China, Taiwan and Hong Kong, collaborating with major academic organizations on the mainland to foster editorial and translation work of important phenomenology classics, and hosting scholars for short-term research visits.
