Joint Research Units 151 CUHK/Tsinghua University Joint R&D Program on Chinese Enterprise Internet Operations Tel.: 2609 8215/8313 Fax.: 2603 5505 E-mail: dept@se.cuhk.edu.hk The joint programme fosters synergy and enhances collaboration between CUHK and Tsinghua in research, system development, and education/training, with a focus on Chinese enterprise Internet operations. It organizes and coordinates activities in the following areas: • Research: to investigate and develop business models and technologies that are relevant to the operating environments of Chinese enterprises. Projects include issues in enterprise resource planning and scheduling, supply chain optimization, logistics, Internet business strategies, and others. • System Development and Industrial Collaboration: to work with a select mainland enterprises committed to moving business operations on to the Internet, in process re-engineering, and system development. • Training and Education: to organize workshops and other training/educational events for managers, executives, and engineers from Chinese enterprises. Epithelial Cell Biology Research Centre Tel.: 2609 6839 Fax.: 2603 5022 E-mail: ecbrc@cuhk.edu.hk Website: http://www.cuhk.edu.hk/ecbrc Promoted and supported by the Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC), the centre was established in 1999 as a joint effort between the Chinese University and the Academy of Military Medical Sciences. It aims to promote basic research and application development in the field of epithelial cell biology in China. The centre encourages interdisciplinary collaboration and international networking. Research activities emphasize functional genomics, exocine physiology, reproductive biology, cancer biology, stem cell biology, immunology, and Chinese medicine. Collaborative projects supported by the NSFC, the Rockefeller Foundation, the Research Grants Council, and the Innovation and Technology Fund are currently being undertaken. The centre is currently collaborating with numerous institutions in Hong Kong, mainland China, and overseas. Institute of South-China Classical Texts Studies Tel.: 2609 7074 Fax.: 2603 6048 The Department of Chinese Language and Literature signed an agreement with the Institute of Classical Texts Studies of Zhongshan University in April 2002 to co-edit the Full Compilation of Cantonese Poetry .
