His duties include, in addition to the presentation of arts programmes, the promotion and coordination of campus- wide arts activities, and the provision of educational opportunities in the arts for the University’s students in relation to their aesthetic development. The Office of the Arts Administrator publishes a monthly Chinese University arts calendar Embark , which is mailed to all departments and units, and is obtainable at libraries, student hostels and canteens, and other prominent spots on campus. Copies of Embark can be mailed to individuals on request. Communications and Public Relations Services The Communications and Public Relations Office is mainly responsible for providing public relations services both internally and externally. It is responsible for planning promotion activities. It liaises closely with the media through its functions which include answering press enquiries, organizing press conferences, press interviews and media gatherings, and issuing press releases regularly on University news and developments. The office handles both internal and external enquiries, informs the University community about campus activities through the publication of Campus Events at the University homepage (http://mmlab.itsc.cuhk.edu.hk/ipro/event ). It is also responsible for organizing official functions such as degree congregations, public lectures, seminars, agreement signing and presentation ceremonies. It plays host to local and overseas visitors. Information Services The main responsibility of the Information Services Office (website: http://www. cuhk.edu.hk/iso ) is to publish University publications providing different types of information about the University. They are bilingual and most have both print and electronic versions. The publications profiles are as follows: The Chinese University of Hong Kong Calendar (website: http://www. cuhk.edu.hk/iso/calendar/index.htm ), published in Chinese and English in autumn each year, is a university catalogue with information about the history, organization, facilities, regulations, and academic programmes of the University. Copies are on sale at The Chinese University Press and the University Bookshop. The Chinese University of Hong Kong Annual Report (website: http:// www.cuhk.edu.hk/iso/report/index.htm) is published annually around December to review the major developments of the University in the previous academic year. The Chinese University Bulletin (website: http://www.cuhk.edu.hk/iso/ bulletin/index.htm) is published twice a year to give information about University activities, developments and recent achievements.
