Postgraduate Studies • Medicine 349 Postgraduate Diploma Programme in Women’s Health Studies (Part-time) The programme provides a comprehensive theoretical background and knowledge base for those involved in the practice and research of women’s health. It will examine a wide variety of women’s health issues and common health problems with a multidisciplinary perspective. The syllabus covers topics ranging from social and cultural perspectives of women’s health, reproductive health, women’s mental health, common diseases, perimenopause and postmenopause, nutrition, to health care systems and alternative medicine. The programme will also cover the principles of epidemiology and biostatistics as well as qualitative research methodology in the study of women’s health. Courses Offered Core Modules 1. Topics in Surgical Specialties (such as Upper Gastrointestinal Surgery, Hepato-Biliary and Pancreatic Surgery, Head and Neck Surgery, Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, Urology, Paediatric Surgery and Paediatric Urology, Neurosurgery, Otorhinolaryngology and Cardiothoracic Surgery) Topics outside the above fields would also be considered. MPhil Programme Fields of Specialization Same as those for the PhD programme.
