Students taking training in addition to the six units are required to pay additional fees. Courses in two dialects, Cantonese and putonghua, are offered at various levels. Major, Minor and Electives All courses offered at the University are open to international student registration except for courses offered by the Faculty of Medicine, the Intensive Programme in Putonghua, Cantonese and English, and putonghua courses offered to CUHK degree candidates. Students can register for the courses providing they fulfil the academic and language requirements. It should be noted that normal timetabling constraints as well as course quotas apply equally to all students.
