It also works on projects in cooperation with research units from other universities in Hong Kong and in mainland China, such as ‘Cultural Relations and Interaction between Shanghai and Hong Kong’ and ‘Hong Kong– Shenzhen Cultural Relations’. Completed projects of the centre include ‘The Uncertain Phoenix: Confucianism in Contemporary China’ and ‘Culture as Destiny — The Confucian Experiment in Modern Singapore’. On-going projects include ‘Classical Lectures and Statecraft Conception in the Court of Ming China, 1368–1644’. Future projects include studies on the forms of Confucian teaching and learning in late imperial China on the manifestation of Confucian ethics and rituals in the Lingnan area, including the present provinces of Guangdong, Guangxi, and Hainan as well as Hong Kong and Macau.
