Established in 1999, its mission is to facilitate Hong Kong to become the innovation and technology hub in the Asia-Pacific region. CINTEC’s objectives are to: • emerge as an advanced applied research and development centre; • actively contribute to and collaborate with industry in the development of high- value-added technological activities and the identification of commercially relevant research topics; • nurture innovative engineering professionals and entrepreneurs; • foster greater collaboration with the mainland for the advancement of technology; and to • provide a synergistic environment leading to innovations and technology advancement. CINTEC consists of two branches. The technology development branch coordinates inter-departmental projects. It pools resources and expertise from various departments to engage in large-scale multi-disciplinary applied R&D projects. The Industrial Liaison Office is dedicated to enhancing liaison between the faculty and industry so that research and industrial needs are well matched. Centre for Neurocognitive Function Enhancement (CNFE) Tel.: 2609 6648 Fax.: 2603 5019 E-mail: cnfe@psy.cuhk.edu.hk Website: http://www.psy.cuhk.edu.hk/cnfe CNFE is a centre for research and clinical service related to clinical neuro-psychology. Established in March 2003, CNFE is a centre jointly organized by the Department of Psychology and the Faculty of Medicine of the Chinese University. The centre is an intellectual conglomeration of scientists from different fields, including psychology, psychiatry, community and family medicine, surgery, and radiology. The goals of CNFE include conducting state-of-the-art research on brain function, providing evidence-based service for improving the various aspects of brain function, and promoting public awareness of the importance of a healthy lifestyle and brain health. Centre of Novel Functional Molecules Tel.: 2609 6343/6344 Fax.: 2603 5057 E-mail.: cnfm@cuhk.edu.hk Website: http://www.chem.cuhk.edu.hk/cnfm/cnfm.htm The centre is focused on the preparation and property studies of functional molecules that can be used in biological, materials and medical applications. It promotes inter- disciplinary research collaborations amongst chemists, biochemists, biologists, physicists, and materials scientists to develop new and novel functional molecules.
