Its major facilities include an optical coating system for making anti-reflection and high refection coatings, a laser welder for active alignment and welding of optical fiber pigtails to TO-can and butterfly packaged optical devices, a die bonder, a fiber- array active alignment system, U-V cured epoxy deposition system, polishing equipment, wafer scribing and dicing equipment and wire bonders. Qualigenics Diabetes Centre Tel.: 8201 2380 2868 6861 3607 7800 Fax.: 2868 6849 2501 0295 E-mail: enquiry@qualigenics.com Website: http://www.qualigenics.com The Qualigenics Diabetes Centre is a medical specialist ambulatory centre which aims to provide one-stop service to meet the multiple health care needs of patients with diabetes, obesity, cardiovascular diseases, and endocrine disorders. It is a joint undertaking of GenRx Healthcare Ltd. (a subsidiary of HKR International Ltd.) and the University. It adopts the clinical management protocols developed by the University which is delivered by a multidisciplinary team involving medical specialists, educators, pharmacists, nurses, physical trainers, counsellors and nutritionists. The operation of the centre is supported by a business team which provides client-oriented, affordable and user friendly services to promote health, prevent disease, and enhance quality of life. Research Centre for Cantonese Tel.: 2609 7160 Fax.: 2603 6048 E-mail: rcfc@cuhk.edu.hk With the University’s endorsement, the Department of Chinese Language and Literature adopted ‘Cantonese in Research, Education and Creative Writing’ as its Strategic ResearchArea in 1998. The Research Centre for Cantonese was subsequently established in February 2001 to coordinate research activities, centralize human resources, and apply for funding for future development. The centre, located at the Fung King Hey Building, is expected to contribute to the development of Hong Kong language and culture jointly with the department. Ongoing projects include the following: • Cantonese databank building; • applying for funding for research projects related to Cantonese studies; • consultation services for the public with regard to Cantonese studies; and • research publication in the name of the centre.
