The new curriculum has enhanced the training programme, producing doctors who are amply qualified to meet the challenges of modern-day health care and serve the community with clinical excellence and compassion. Medical students who are interested in research may apply for admission to the Intercalated Degree Programme inMedical Sciences at the end of their third or fourth year of studies. Students admitted on the basis of the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education (HKDSE) or a recognized HKDSE equivalent are required to complete six years of study to qualify for the degrees of Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB).
