Shaw College College Motto: Cultivating One’s Virtue and Going Deeply into What One has Learned Shaw College was founded in 1986 with donation from Sir Run Run Shaw to promote the cultivation of virtue and the pursuit of knowledge. The Wen Lan Tang of the College provides a vantage point to admire the beautiful scenery of the Tolo Habour and the nearby Pat Sin Leng. The dynamically shaped College Sign situated on the Shaw Terrace at the campus entrance represents the College spirit and a readiness to face new challenges squarely. The Multi-Purpose Learning Centre , situated at Huen Wing Ming Building, is well equipped to cater for individual or group learning and different activities. The Shaw College Mural , located beneath the sign, incorporates several important icons such as the College Sign, the Tolo Habour, Hong Kong Orchid and Chek Nai Ping Village near the University.
