CUHK Newsletter No.19 June 1991 Advertisement s Hong Kong Examinations Authority The Hong Kong Examinations Authority invites applications for appointment as Secretary o f th eAuthority i n August/ September 199 2when th e present incumbent is due to retire. Applicants should be at least 35 years of ag ean dshould have a university degree, good knowledge o f th eHong Kong education system, and considerable administrative/managerial experience at a responsible level. Experience i nth e administration o fexaminations and/or i n the field of educational measurement will be an advantage. Monthly salary will no tb eless than HK$66,755. Benefits include housing, medical an ddental schemes. First appointment will b eo ncontract fo r tw o or three years with a 25 per cent gratuity on satisfactory completion o f contract. Subsequent employment w i ll b eo n contract or superannuable terms. The Secretary is the chief executive o f the Authority, which was established i n 1977 as an independent statutory body t o plan an dconduct public examinations. Judo Classes A judo course will be held at the Hong Kong Sports Institute (formerly th e Jubilee Sports Centre) with David Starbrook, seventh Da nDouble Olympic Medallist, as coach. Classes will be held every Sunday from 7th July t o25th August a t1.00 p.m. Both adults (beginners o r advanced players) and top junior players are welcome. A summer judo programme fo r children over six will also be offered at King George V School and the United Services Recreation Club.
