Donatio n of Book s b y th e Australia n and Canadia n Governme t s Both th e Australian an d Canadian governments donated books t o th e University last month t o augment it s library collections o n Australian an d Canadian literature. Such books include novels an d poems written by eminent writers i n Australia an d Canada, some o f whom ar e Asian migrants. Book presentation ceremonies were held on the campus on 4th and 20th November respectively. Prof. Charles K. Ka o received th e gifts from th e Australian Consul General an d th e Commissioner for Canada on behalf of the University. The University's Department o f English ha s plans t o introduce t o students literary works from different parts o f th e English-speaking world. Apart from English an d American literature courses currently offered, a ne w course i n Canadian literature will be introduced next year. The department will also consider offering a course in Australian literature in the near future. Personalia 4
